essential jeff here, checking in with the morning report.

it isn’t often you get to go on a road trip and actually have a theme song. granted, there have been road trips where you remember a certain song on the radio or a certain cd you listened to, but wednesday night we all piled into hood’s truck and headed for memphis - and the whole way, at various times, we would just start singing random lines for the song “walking in memphis.” we just couldn’t help it!

alright, so on with the blog - touched down in the land of the delta blues at around 1:30 thursday morning and crashed at seth reeves’ (by the way, mad props to seth and roomates for hooking us up with a place to chill) house. it took a while to get to his house because memphis forgot to label all of their roads. either way, we made it and got a whopping 3.5 hours of sleep before we had to get up and leave to head to the station. mc was of course the toughest to wake up while hood was fresh as a daisy. the news station was located inside of peabody place - if you’ve ever been there, you know that it’s a neat little indoor mall thing. quite possibly the highlight of the trip, we got to take pictures behind the news desk. check out the motherpage boochieshepherd.com for a peak at those tasty pics. playing was fun, and talking with the anchors was a blast. if you wanna submit yourselves to the torture of actually watching that footage, it can be found at this link : http://www.wreg.com/Global/SearchResults.asp?qu=boochie+shepherd . click on the first search result “live at 9 thursday nov. 30″ boochie can be found at the minute marks of 28 to 35 (perfect little world / interview)and at 55 (vertical). afterwards, we loaded up the gear and headed for beale. pretty neat stuff.

by now, we have eaten at this little rib place on beale, and we decide to check out the peabody hotel. it’s nice, and involved two trees, but we decided that honestly, super 8 would do the trick. heading outside, we find that a slight drizzle with a cold wind has begun. so naturally, we purpose to find a ben and jerry’s for some ice cream. enter the coolest ice cream server ever - santania. we all just chilled and ate ice cream and had a regular shin dig of a time there. afterward, we all headed back to seth’s to crash for a while.

“the show” was a nifty little joint. it’s actually a school for music and arts - they do productions and such. check it out if you’re in the area. everything went great - the crowd was awesome and the fellow rockers “the american radio” were great as well. all in all we met some great memphibians. after the show at the show, loaded up and headed back home to crash and heal. lots of fun and enjoyment.

a few reminders: december 4th is when ‘pull my string‘ hits the radio stations. call them up and request it like mad! december 29th is the show at exposure. come prepared to have fun and act a fool.

thanks for all those supporters out there
