Smash Some Fruit!

I had an awesome time yesterday in Rome, GA. I went an played an acoustic set for the Oak Hill Church of Christ to close out this event they were having called ‘Melon Madness’. It was truly mad. We just smashed fruit all day long. Even dressed up a dude in full body armor made from fruit.

I was in need of some company for the ride over so Anna Barker and Megan Hill rode with me. We all packed into the front of my truck and rode that way for 2 1/2 hours one way. At least they smelled good…

I ended up playing every song I knew. No kidding. The set was almost 3 hours long. There weren’t a lot of people there, but the ones who were there were so into the songs. That really makes you feel good. They kept wanting more, so I kept playing. I even got down to playing slow, sappy love songs that I had written. A couple of chicks even cried. It was cool! I’m really looking forward to going back to Rome with the full band on August 26-27. We are doing 2 shows with Seven Miles Wallking that weekend. They’re some cool guys. We are all gonna stay at Dirty Bird’s house. That is gonna make for some interesting times. We may have to make a movie. I’m just saying…

Oh, by the way… Collective Soul is coming to Decatur tonight and I’m pretty fired up about it. They are expecting like 30,000 people to be out there for the show. Should be pretty awesome.
