Neyati

Last night was absolutely rocking. The crowds have been getting better and better everytime we play out; Camp Neyati was no exception. Thanks so much to all of you! Keller made it out for his first full band concert last night. I think he had a good time. He chilled with The Wife and Patti Reed at the merch table while we played. It was great to see so many people that we haven’t seen in a while, and especially great to see and hear so many of you singing the words to our songs. That’s an amazing feeling.

Viola went on before us and killed it. They really are awesome and you should check ‘em out if they are ever in your area. But don’t bring small children because their lead singer, Will Carothers, may eat them. Seriously. Methinks Essential Jeff had as much fun watching them as anybody in the crowd. I really hurt my head banging it around while they were playing. I have said it before and I will say it again: watching Viola is like watching a trainwreck.

We had 5 different states (that we know about) represented at the show last night. That’s pretty cool. Spray and Fain drove down from TN; Bird brought a crew from GA; and the distinguished Joey Herm made his appearance all the way from Kentucky. I just realized something: I have friends with really cool names: Spray, Fain, Dirty Bird, Essential Jeff, Herm, Hawk (not to be confused with Bird), etc… Just an observation. Special thanks are due to the one and only Mark Hawk and the Hawk Family 14 (he has about a hundred kids) for having us out again this year.

I was very disappointed to learn that plumB dumB was not playing. It kinda hurts to see it all finally come to an end. That’s right: plumB dumB is no more. What a legacy was established, though. Such great songs as Big Headed People, The Jellyfish Song, Ureka Urethra, and of course, El Rancho Grande. However, there is still a glimmer of ignorant hope, for where plumB dumB has been buried, The Risky Business Reunion is raised to a brilliant new existence. We can only pray that their influence is as far-reaching and long-lasting as that of the esteemed plumB dumB. RIP.

Let me conclude by saying this:

“Musty Billy, raise up the bladders, cause paw paw’s coming home to pants a weevil. Powdered razor.”

I think you all know what I mean…
