Boochie Invades Six Flags

Let me start by saying, “All hail the Q-Bot.” Had it not been for this heaven-sent invention, the Boochie Shepherd Six Flags experience would have been miserable. Waiting in line is not something that my A.D.D. deals well with. But how about cutting in front of everybody and riding on the front row every time? Now that works out just fine…
Me, Hood, Mallory, and the Dirty Bird spent literally the whole day together at Six Flags in Atlanta. Hood and I rode everything in the park. Bird rode until he was sick, and Mallory… well, she got on a couple of them. I swear I rode the Batman 15 times. It was awesome.
I believe that when we’re rolling in money in a couple of years, we’ll rent the whole park and have a “Boochie Shepherd Day” at Six Flags.

So, how goes it everyone? I’m exhausted. This whole week I have been participating in Decatur Work Camp. I’ve spent each day working on a lady’s house. We had to tear off the porch and the whole back section of the house and start from scratch. It was hard work, but it was a lot of fun, and she was really appreciative. Makes you feel good…
In the middle of work camp week, we had concert on Tuesday night at Civitan Park in Guntersville. It was interesting. We had quite a few that showed up to hear us, but the majority of the people there were the “regulars.” And by “regulars” I mean that they were well over 50 years old, not that they had a consistent pattern of bowel movements. That being the case we tried to play some of our more relaxed stuff right up front and work everybody into the harder stuff. I think we were successful; except for this one old guy who kept giving me the thumbs down. We’ll call him ‘Ezekiel’. We actually started our set with ‘Bother’, which is the first time we’ve ever done that. We also allowed Essential Jeff to talk on mic quite a bit more, much to our chagrin. This was done in an effort to gain the cooperation of the Senior Citizens. It must have worked, too, ’cause they were all jamming.
The view at the concert was awesome. The stage was nice and big, but the best part was that we were pretty much playing right on top of beautiful Lake Guntersville. It was, however, incredibly hot. I think I lost 6 pounds of sweat on stage that night. But they did bring in this huge fan during the last couple of songs. It was cool, but when it started blowing cool air, it also started blowing that fish smell from the river all over the stage. Kinda weird. All in all, a good trip.
But the most exciting part of my week by far was the opportunity to work with The Risky Business Reunion on Monday night. They came by and we recorded ‘Dust’. It is now up and running on their website, which you can check out at www.myspace.com/riskybusinessreunion.
