The show at the VBCC last Friday night was really awesome. Nothing More Than This went on first. That was the first time we had heard them. Then we played and rocked the house! It was awesome. The crowd was great. Jeff had a whole section of women on the front row that were about to pass out everytime he opened his mouth to sing! pointZEROone went up after us. They were really great. Of course, we were just kinda opening for them, but I really think that a lot of people left as Boochie Shepherd fans that had never heard of us before. Naturally, all the faithful Boochie Sheep were in attendance and going crazy. Special propers to the Dirty Bird for getting the crowd going on the Boochie chant before we hit the stage. A lot of people were singing along with our songs, even some of the new ones, which is an amazing feeling. That’s probably the highest high I’ve ever felt.
Saturday night we played at Goat Roast in Henderson, TN for Freed-Hardeman University. It was fun. There were a lot of people there. More than I expected, at least. It was a long drive home, though, after the show. Me and Jeff and Whitney Denton all piled into my truck for the 2 1/2 hour trip. I think we scared Whitney to death with our stupidity…Jeremy Spray sat in and played percussion with us. He did a great job, just like always. He’s sitting in again on Thursday night in Hartselle.
OK. That’s it for the first road journal entry! Stay tuned for more!
